Transfermarkt.com.br has updated the market values of the Brazilian Séria A. Champions Flamengo have defended their first place in the squad value standings. The Rubronegro see their squad value grow from €118.2 million to €124.2 million. But in São Paulo-based Palmeiras, a second club managed to break through the €100m barrier; the squad jumped from €90.1 million to now €108.2 million, which was mainly due to one new rising star.

A few days ago, Gabriel Veron turned 18 and, as a result, signed a new contract at the Alviverde, which will keep him at the club until 2025—the exit-clause for the winger, who had several offers from European clubs, is now €60 million. His market value has gone up by €2.5 million, and he is now worth €25 million, which makes him the most valuable player in the league, even though he has played just four games (94 minutes) in Série A.

The 19-year-old Gabriel Menino and the 21-year-old Patrick de Paula are already part of the starting XI. U20 national team player Gabriel Menino, who is used in different positions by Vanderlei Luxemburgo, saw his market value grow by €3.6 million; he is now worth €10 million. De Paula, in the meantime, saw his market value grow from €250,000 to now €9 million. The central midfielder has already taken part in the Paulista and is a constant start for Palmeiras in the league. Clubs in Europe, among them Borussia Dortmund, are interested.

Update - All Market Values for Brazil

At Flamengo, the stars of the team are a bit older, but the Copa Libertadores winner dominate the top 10 of the most valuable players in the Série A. First and foremost, Gabriel Barbosa, the 24-year-old, remains a dangerous striker and has somewhat made up his loss in value due to the coronavirus update in April. The 24-year-old's market value grows from €18.5 million to now €20 million. He is the most valuable player at Flamengo, followed by Giorgian de Arrascaeta (€15m), Gerson (+€3m to €14m), and Pedro (€12 million).

Matheus Henrique, together with Gabigol, ranks second in the market value ranking. The Grêmio central midfielder saw his market value grow from €17.5 million to €20 million. With Jean Pyerre (€9 million) and Pepê (+€3.2m to €9m), two more Grêmio players manage to rank in the top 10 of the most valuable players in the Série A.

Among the league's top talents Talles Magno has been the biggest winner of the recent update. The 18-year-old forward was part of the squad that won the U17 World Cup in November, where he struggled with an injury. At his club Vasco da Gama the 18-year-old is regularly part of the starting XI and, as a result, his market value has grown from €4.5 million to €8 million.

The young players aside, veterans dominate Brazil's club football, which due to their advanced age no longer are in the top market value categories. The 35-year-old Diego, for example, has lost his starting position at Flamengo, and his market value has shrunk from €2.8 million to €2 million.
