Vata wants to explore his opportunities away from Celtic
Celtic forward Rocco Vata wants to consider his options to leave in this window and does not want to open contract negotiations at this stage.
It’s understood the Hoops hierarchy don’t want to sell the 18-year-old, who was told this summer that his first team opportunities would be limited this season.
Celtic also don’t plan to send Vata out on loan, as he fits the homegrown criteria needed for the Champions League.
Vata, who has one year left on his current deal, doesn’t want to open contract talks at this stage and would like to explore his opportunities for first team football elsewhere.
Vata, who’s been included in the upcoming Ireland U21 squad, has playing for Celtic B in the Lowland League this season - the fifth tier of Scottish football.
Clubs across Europe, including Torino and Club Brugge, remain interested in Vata. He will be able to speak to clubs and negotiate a pre-contract in January.
